Saturday’s Met Opera matinee at 1 pm is a true throwback — the afternoon offering is a legendary 1961 recording of Verdi’s Il Trovatore featuring Leontyne Price as Leonora, the noblewoman in a romantic tangle with Manrico (Franco Corelli) and Count di Luna (Mario Sereni). Both Price and Corelli made their Met debuts during this Trovatore run, and it was an excellent preview of wonderful things to come. Fausto Cleva conducts.
